Nearly 100 animals rescued in Vermillion County animal hoarding case

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) - Help is needed after an extreme case of animal hoarding was uncovered at the Troll Keep Kitty Haven, a rescue in Horseshoe, Indiana.


Concerned pet owners called police in Vermillion County after realizing the kittens they had adopted from the center had severe health issues

When officers went to check it out, they found nearly 100 cats, dogs and birds living in unsanitary conditions, and some of them running loose.


The Parke-Vermillion Humane Society took in many of the animals, and they're now in desperate need of volunteers, food, supplies and monetary donations. The humane society can be reached at 765-492-3540 and is located behind the Vermillion County Jail


No arrests have been made in the case.
