INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indiana State Police along with state police departments from five other states will be enforcing the "Move Over" laws.

The enforcement started in Ohio and involves all the states surrounding it.

Under Indiana law, when an emergency, road crew or utility vehicle is stopped on the side of the road you should:

  • Move over a lane.
  • Slow to at least 10 mph below the posted speed limit if you can't move over a lane.

People who are caught violating the "Move Over" law will be ticketed and told how the law works.
