SPENCER, Ind. (WTHR) — The tower in McCormick's Creek State Park is back open after 30 years, and offers some spectacular views of fall foliage.

The tower was closed after being judged unsafe, but park supporters raised the funds that paid to renovate the 88-foot-tall tower.

Visitors must climb 105 steps to reach an enclosed cab at top.

Tours are available on weekends through early December:

Meet at the Canyon Inn. The tower is open at all times, but you may want to join one of the interpretive naturalists for a bit of history and a visit to the cab.
