KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) - It's been more than four months since a Kokomo teacher set a goal to dance at her son's wedding following a serious bicycle crash.
Donita Walters was set to embark on a cross-country charity ride to help disabled veterans this summer. But that journey ended before it could begin when a car hit her from behind on her last day of training.

Walters has spent months in physical therapy after suffering a broken neck and shattered pelvis.
This weekend, though, she achieved her goal. She got to dance with her son on his wedding day Saturday, just like she had promised she would.
She called the dance an incredible moment that she will never forget.
Walters still has two more surgeries to go, but says she's finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
