Sam Peszek pursues new goals | Inspiring Indiana

The silver medalist just landed her the biggest gig in her sport.

INDIANAPOLIS — An Olympic silver medalist is inspiring Indiana with her continued pursuit of new goals.

Sam Peszek won team silver in gymnastics at the Beijing Games in 2008.

She graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to UCLA.

An entrepreneur, Peszek created her own business called Beam Queen Bootcamp. She lives in Austin Texas now and travels the country teaching young athletes about balance - in their sport and in life.

In addition to that, she's pursued a career in broadcasting and her work in the 16 years since the game just landed her the biggest gig in her sport: analyst for NBC Olympics in Paris.

It's an honor she's still processing as she looks back to where the dream started.

"I majored in communications, UCLA, and I always wanted to be a sports broadcaster and really just worked hard and kept putting one foot in front of the other and got asked to step in last year for NBC at World Championships," said Peszek. "I think they liked what I was putting down and so they just gave me another call and offered me the Olympic primetime broadcasting job and truly a dream come true for me. I'm so excited. I'm nervous. I'm all the things but I just want to make them proud and do their stories justice and hopefully bring a lot of education and excitement to the sport of gymnastic."

She's been there and her insights have weight. She knocked out another big goal. Congratulations Sam!
