LOGANSPORT (WTHR) - Police in Logansport are calling the shooting deaths of two people inside a home Sunday a murder-suicide.

According to our news-gathering partners at the Logansport Pharos-Tribune, the bodies were found Sunday in a home on Hanna Street.

Police say both victims, 24-year-old Brooke Day and 41-year-old David Rush, were found inside the home with gunshot wounds. They say Day lived at the home.

Investigators believe Rush went to Day’s home at around 10 p.m. on Saturday. They say it appears he made forced entry as Day and a toddler slept inside.

The pair were found in home around 4 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators determined that Rush fired on Day multiple times before turning the gun on himself.

The toddler was taken to an area hospital for check-out, but was not seriously hurt.

Police believe that Day and Rush had been in a relationship for roughly seven months. Police say they believe that relationship had ended sometime within the last two months.
