SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. — An Indiana bow hunter said he got the deer of a lifetime Sunday morning after years of waiting.
Noah Goeppner told WFIE-TV he was 15 yards away when he was able to hit a white buck in Spencer County.
It wasn't his first encounter with the deer, Goeppner said. He said he first saw it as a spike buck in 2021. Last November, he let the deer go as a six-pointer.
This season, Goeppner said he has been watching the buck on some trail cameras. Finally, this weekend, he was able to harvest the rare deer.
He said it's his first whitetail buck he's gotten with a bow.
His Labrador retriever, Nelli, was able to track the deer for him. He said Nelli has two seasons of tracking under her belt, but this was the first deer tracked that he shot.
