Indiana University Police are investigating the disappearance of a student.
Joseph William Smedley II was reported missing on Monday (Sept. 28, 2015) after telling his sister he was leaving the country. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Vivian Brown says her brother does not have a passport and left a note behind, asking loved ones not to try to contact him, but his family believes someone else wrote the note.
"All his clothes are still in his room. All his shoes are still there, his hat, his jacket. Everything. His laptop, his phone charger, his tablet, all of that is still in his apartment," Brown said.
Smedley is an African-American male, 20 years old, 5’7”, 145 pounds, brown hair and eyes.
His family has been out searching in the Bloomington area all day. Smedley's friends and classmates have taken the effort to social media, using the hashtag #FindJosephSmedley to try to spread the word of his disappearance.
