MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Indiana — One person has died following a crash involving a semi truck on U.S. 231 in Montgomery County Sunday afternoon.
According to Indiana State Police, around 6 p.m. on Oct. 27, ISP and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fatal crash on U.S. 231, near State Road 234.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a semi truck was traveling northbound on U.S. 231 and approaching the intersection at State Road 234. At the same time, a 2016 Honda CRV was traveling eastbound on State Road 234 and pulled out into the path of the semi.
A passenger of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner. Their identity will be released once family is notified.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis, but police say their condition is unknown.
Police say the driver of the semi truck was not injured.
