Indiana State Police welcomes new K-9 officer, to be partnered with 16-year ISP veteran

BREMEN, Ind. — The Indiana State Police welcomed a new K-9 officer to the force Wednesday. 

Master Trooper John Wilson will be joined by K-9 officer Daisy after the partners graduated from ISP K-9 Training School on Dec. 13. The partners will patrol ISP District 24 in Elkhart, St. Joseph, Marshall and Kosciusko counties in northern Indiana.

Daisy is a 1-year-old Belgian Malinois. Wilson is a 16-year ISP veteran.

The ISP K-9 Training School is an annual 12-week school held in Indianapolis that features more than 480 hours of instruction. Handlers also receive training in K-9 legal concepts, as well as classes on odor detection theory and tracking situations.
