INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Black Expo has tapped two prominent names in race and social justice to keynote its annual Education Conference July 14-16.
The educational conference, designed for educators to help enhance the school experience for students of color, will be highlighted by Professor Ibram x. Kendi and Dr. Marc Lamont Hill. The conference will be online this year due to COVID-19.
Kendi is a New York Times bestselling author and the founding director of the Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University. Beginning in July, he'll be a history professor and the founding director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research. He has published 14 academic essays in books and journals, and is a regular contributor to The Atlantic and CBS News.
Hill is a media studies professor at Temple University and is the host of BET News. He is an award-winning journalist and the author of New York Times Bestseller "Nobody: Casualties of America's War on the Vulnerable, From Ferguson to Flint and Beyond."
