Indiana Beach set to debut 'All American Triple Loop' roller coaster on opening day

The addition of the new ride brings the park's total number of roller coasters to seven.

MONTICELLO, Ind — Roller coaster enthusiasts in the Midwest have a new coaster to try this summer.

Indiana Beach has announced the public launch date for its new "All American Triple Loop" roller coaster will be May 11, the park's opening day.

A media day planned for May 9 and a VIP preview night on May 10 will provide the first rides on the new coaster prior to its public launch.

Park guests can find the coaster located near the main parking lot, not far from Indiana Beach's other steel roller coaster, Steel Hawg.

Featuring three vertical loops, the coaster can reach a top speed of 53.4 mph and forces as high as 5.6 g's.

The coaster itself is a Schwarzkopf triple loop that has an interesting history. Originally manufactured in 1984, the coaster was first of its kind for having three vertical loops. It spent 12 years traveling across Germany at local fairgrounds

After the coaster was retired from the fairground circuit, it was a permanent attraction at amusement parks in Malaysia, England and Mexico.
