LAWRENCE, Indiana — The once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse is almost here in central Indiana, and local communities are still announcing even more plans to celebrate.
The City of Lawrence is hosting the Total Eclipse Fort Ben 2024 Festival at 1 p.m. in Community Park the day of the eclipse and other events leading up to it.
"A lot of things are happening in the city of Lawrence and we're very excited about it," said Leandre Level, Deputy Chief of Staff.
The celebrations begin Saturday, April 6 when runners hit the pavement for the Total Eclipse of the Sun 5K. That will be followed by the Total Eclipse Pickleball Tournament on Sunday.
