IMPD: Driver who died in crash involving IndyGo bus was not shot

The driver of a car involved in the July 5 crash on the northwest side died from blunt force trauma, police said Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police now say a woman who died in a crash involving an IndyGo bus was not shot, as previously reported.

The crash occurred July 5 in the 1800 block of North Harding Street on the near northwest side. Officers at the scene found four people who were injured in the crash, including the driver of one of the cars, who officers determined had also been shot.

On July 8, IMPD reported that the woman had died from her injuries.

But on Aug. 1, IMPD reported that the victim instead died from blunt force trauma caused by the accident and had not been shot. That determination came after investigators consulted with the Marion County Coroner's Office about the case.
