IMPD identifies suspect in attack at Broad Ripple grocery store parking lot

A person was attacked in the 6300 block of College Avenue over the weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating an alleged attack that happened in the parking lot of the Fresh Thyme Market in Broad Ripple Sunday morning.

Thursday evening, IMPD Lt. Shane Foley said detectives believe they have identified the suspect in the incident and will be presenting the case to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office to make a decision on charges.

“A woman was leaving the grocery store and another woman, apparently for no reason, seemed to attack her,” Foley said.

On Thursday, the victim’s family told 13News that she remains in the hospital and is recovering.

“We are thankful for the members of the community who stepped up and provided this woman with some support and followed the suspect and tried to identify who she was and where she was going,” Foley said.

IMPD released photos of a woman they believe is connected to the attack. Investigators said the woman was seen arriving in the Broad Ripple area on an IndyGo bus and got off at the Red Line stop at College Avenue at 10:13 a.m. Feb. 4.
