INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was critically injured in a crash on Indianapolis' near east side Friday morning.
Around 6:30 a.m. Dec. 1, officers responded to the 2900 block of English Avenue, near Southeastern Avenue, for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. There they found a man who had been struck, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
"The driver did remain on scene and is cooperating with the investigation," IMPD said in a statement.
Officers at the scene told 13News alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
Police said to expect traffic impacts in the area for several hours Friday morning and urged drivers and pedestrians to find an alternative route.
