INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – Indianapolis Metro Police officers are remembering the life of a fallen officer this weekend.

They tweeted these pictures earlier today saying "as is tradition with the southeast district", late shift roll call was held at the site where Jake Laird began his last shift 14 years ago.

A gunman shot and killed the 31-year-old during a 16 minute shooting spree in a southeast side neighborhood back in 2004.

One of Laird's fellow officers put a stop to it after shooting and killing the gunman.
