INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - An IMPD officer was involved in a crash around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at 79th and Ditch Road on the city's northwest side.
Police say two police cars were following a fire truck on the way to an accident scene. The fire truck cleared the intersection, but the first squad car was struck by an SUV.
The female officer was taken to Methodist Hospital as a precaution and the driver of the SUV was taken to St. Vincent as a precaution.
The intersection is closed for cleanup.
