INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was killed in a crash on Indianapolis' east side Sunday morning.
The incident was reported just before 11:30 a.m. Aug. 3 at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and East 30th Street.
IMPD Sgt. Anthony Patterson told 13News a man driving a car crashed into a semi parked on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and police said he was the only person in the car.
On Monday, Aug. 5, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 20-year-old Deondrey R. Pirtle.
IMPD said the semi driver was not injured.
Officers noted that speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
The IMPD fatal crash investigation team is investigating.
