Drug Take Back Day is Oct. 28

The departments are working together to provide a safe and responsible way for people to get rid of their prescription drugs.

INDIANAPOLIS — Local organizations are teaming up to provide a safe and responsible way for people to get rid of their prescription drugs.

The Indianapolis Fire Department and IMPD, alongside the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, are hosting a drug take back event on Saturday, Oct. 28, which is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Five IFD stations will be set up for people to drop off their prescription drugs:

  • Station 1 - 1903 W. 10th St.
  • Station 2 - 4120 Mitthoefer Road
  • Station 4 - 8404 N. Ditch Road
  • Station 23 - 1108 E. Thompson Road
  • Station 27 - 2918 E. 10th St.

IMPD officers will work the events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Indiana State Police is holding its collections from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Unwanted medications can be dropped off at any Indiana State Police Post, except for the Toll Road Post.

The Putnamville post will have its collection on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m.
