INDIANAPOLIS — Two people are dead after a crash Thursday evening on a busy Indianapolis highway.
It happened just before 8 p.m. Oct. 26 on Interstate 70 around the German Church Road overpass, which is east of Post Road.
Few details were immediately available, but an alert from the Indiana Department of Transportation confirmed two people had been killed in a crash that involved a semi truck.
INDOT also said all westbound lanes of the highway were closed after the collision and that traffic was being diverted from I-70 onto Mount Comfort Road, several miles east of the crash.
Around 2:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, an INDOT alert said all lanes had reopened.
The fire department was called to the scene to clean up a spill of diesel fuel resulting from the accident.
