Hot Wheels Legends Tour makes a stop in Greenwood

Fifty life-sized Hot Wheels cars took over the parking lot at the Walmart Supercenter on Emerson Avenue on Saturday.

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Many kids (and even adults) consider Hot Wheels among their favorite toys.

On Saturday, they came to life in Greenwood.

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour made it's only stop in the Hoosier state Saturday afternoon. Fifty life-sized Hot Wheels cars took over the parking lot at the Walmart Supercenter on Emerson Avenue.

One man with a truck in Saturday's tour stop says he spent seven years on this project and it gets a lot of attention.

"You can't go to a gas station without drawing a crowd," said Dan Newby about his custom-built truck. "People slow down, motorcycle drivers, semi truck drivers, they all give me a thumbs up. They've never seen a truck like this."

The winner of Saturday's tour stop was Hyrum Bingham and his custom 1938 Ford Roadster. He'll now travel to Las Vegas for a chance to have his custom ride become the next Hot Wheels toy.
