Noblesville - Central Indiana police say an inmate is dead after being found unresponsive in the medical unit of the Hamilton County jail.

An autopsy is pending to determine how 38-year-old Curtis Christopher Tschohl died. The Fishers resident was pronounced dead Sunday night at a Noblesville hospital.

Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Vicky Dunbar says the Fishers resident was found unresponsive in the jail's medical unit, where he was being treated for alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

Deputies tried to revive him, but Tschohl was later pronounced dead. He had been jailed since April 19 on a drunken-driving charge.
