GREENWOOD, Ind. (WTHR) — The City of Greenwood announced a new destination outdoor park on Thursday.
Early details have the park being built at the northwest corner of I-65 and Worthsville Road.
It will cover 40 acres and have baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, playgrounds, splash pad and more.

Our unified will toimprove this community serves as a source of pride and the foundation for Greenwood’s continued progress.”
Downtown fieldhouse
The outdoor park does not have a name yet. It will cater to local and traveling sports teams.
The city also released images of what the inside of the new downtown fieldhouse will look like.
It will anchor redevelopment of the former Greenwood Middle School.
The fieldhouse will have volleyball, futsal, badminton, soccer, baseball, basketball and pickleball. It will also include a raised three-lane track and an indoor field.
