'We will certainly miss the confetti!' | Mascot Hall of Fame permanently closing in Indiana

The museum in Whiting, Indiana, is going to go out with a celebration in September.

WHITING, Ind — Indiana's Mascot Hall of Fame is closing.

The museum is holding a celebration on Sept. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its building in Whiting, Indiana.

The museum opened in 2019 to celebrate the wild and wacky world of mascots. The Pacers' Boomer and Colts' Blue were both part of the inaugural Hall of Fame class.

If you come between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., you'll get served special pancakes. Tickets to that are $30 for adults and $20 for kids under the age of 10. Members get tickets for $15 for adults and $10 for kids.

General admission tickets are also available

In a post on Facebook, the Mascot Hall of Fame team thanked everyone for the impact they had made:

"We have made quite a family in the 5+ years since we opened our doors. We have had the pleasure of sharing in hundreds of your special days and birthdays. We've had thousands and thousands of students visit for field trips. We've been able to fill gaps in the community with free and reduced programs, food banks, blood drives, backpack giveaways, sensory days, reading programs, and so much more. It has been an honor. "

Mascot Fans: It is with sadness in our hearts that we must announce that the Mascot Hall of Fame will be closing in...

They also made it clear this is not the end for the Mascot Hall of Fame.

The website will continue to operate, and they are actively looking for a new location to host the museum.
