INDIANAPOLIS — Dave Calabro is hanging out in a pumpkin patch this week, which seems like a great place to find some good news.
There's lots of traditional fall activities happening at Waterman's Family Farm at 7010 E. Raymond St. on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
"It's fun, fun fun," Carol Waterman said.
Dave spoke with a visitor who agreed a visit to Waterman's Fall Harvest Festival was a great way to kick off October.
"Oh, yeah, yeah," she said. "And the weather is great too, so it makes it nice."
She told Dave it was her first visit to the event.
"It's our first fall Halloween anything, so she's excited," she said, referring to a nearby toddler.
For more than 40 years, the Fall Harvest Festival has become a popular destination for families and schools.
"We have our kindergarten class from the PATH School on our first pumpkin patch extravaganza, so they are fired up, the teachers are fired up and this is what it's all about — the experiences that they'll never forget," one visitor told Dave.
Another educator said the festival is a great opportunity for kids to get out in the fresh air.
"They can run, they can play, they can learn about pumpkins, they can learn about fresh produce where good food comes from, and that's what I teach," she said.
