INDIANAPOLIS — While this week's heatwave may not have been particularly good news for some, Dave Calabro found some children using it as a reason to cool off at a west Indianapolis pool.
The kids were all smiles at the Krannert Park Aquatic Center, a place Dave knows well.
"You know, I learned how to swim in this pool a long time ago," he told one child.
The pool gave families not only a place to cool down, but a spot to get a break from the start of the school year.
"I like to swim because it's fun and its relaxing," said one of the boys at the pool.
But the good news wasn't only about getting into the water.
"School's going good," said a boy who attends McLelland Elementary School. "I get to make friends and I get to have fun."
