FRANKFORT, Ind — Clinton County officials are responding after a train with 11 cars derailed in the City of Frankfort early Thursday morning.
The Frankfort Police Department says there is no ongoing danger to the public related to the cargo and the derailment is blocking roads from Rossville Avenue to Jackson Street.
Clinton County's Emergency Management Agency reported that one of the cars contained vegetable oil, but no leakage was found.
According to the FPD, the roads are being blocked by railroad crossing arms, but expect some of them to be opened before morning traffic begins. CCEMA says some of the roads could be closed 12-24 hours for the cleanup.
Local drivers are being asked to use Roy Scott Parkway and Clay Street to avoid the closures.
Frankfort is approximately 45 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
