ANDERSON, Ind. — A former police officer from Alexandria was arrested Monday on a felony child solicitation warrant.
State police said 40-year-old Matthew Blakeley turned himself in Monday morning.
Police said a May investigation probed an alleged 2002 incident involving a child under the age of 10. According to police, “the allegation that led to the charge involved Blakeley inappropriately touching a victim.”
Our newsgathering partners at the Herald Bulletin reported on May 20, 2020 that the Anderson Board of Public Safety was conducting a disciplinary hearing involving Blakeley. The story said Blakeley was a former Alexandria police officer who provided extra security in the schools and had transferred to the Anderson Police Department last May.
Blakely was booked at the Madison County Jail.
