MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. — Investigators said a smoker grill is to blame for a fire that heavily damaged a home in McCordsville Friday.
The Vernon Township Fire Department responded to the 6100 block of Woodhaven Drive around 7 a.m. on a report of a house fire.
Firefighters arrived to find a porch on fire and that the fire had spread to the rest of the house.
Neighbors alerted the homeowners of the fire, and they all got out of the house safely.
Fishers, Lawrence and Buck Creek Township fire departments assisted Vernon Township.
