INDIANAPOLIS — A firefighter was taken to the hospital and four people were displaced after a house fire on Indianapolis' near south side Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the 1400 block of South Illinois Street, near West Arizona Street.
Responding crews found heavy fire coming from the front of the home and made an "aggressive attack" to get the fire under control, the Indianapolis Fire Department said.
All occupants of the home, including several pets, made it out uninjured. The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
One firefighter was taken to Eskenazi Hospital with minor injuries, IFD said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
