Fire reported at downtown Indianapolis White Castle restaurant

The alarm came in just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS — First responders were called to a fire at a downtown Indianapolis restaurant early Wednesday morning. 

Dispatch records show the fire at White Castle, 55 West South Street, was reported at 12:52 a.m. as a building alarm.

The business is located just east of Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Indianapolis Fire Department hasn't shared details about the blaze, but a 13News camera captured video of a large number of fire trucks, including aerial apparatus, surrounding the building as flames and heavy smoke appeared on the restaurant's roof.

Firefighters are battling a blaze at the White Castle restaurant on South Street, near Lucas Oil Stadium.
