AVON, Indiana — An investigation is underway into the cause of an overnight fire at a Hendricks County senior living facility.
Around 2:15 a.m. June 4, crews with the Washington Township / Avon Fire Department were called to Independence Village Avon in the 100 block of South County Road 500 East, just south of Rockville Road, for a building alarm with entrapment.
Responding crews found no one was trapped, but heavy smoke was coming from the third floor the facility.
"Our members took quick action and extinguished a fire that began in the laundry room," the department said in a social media post.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brownsburg Fire Territory, Plainfield Fire Territory and Danville Fire Department provided assistance to Washington Township / Avon Fire Department crews.
