Fever players help reveal community basketball court at Indiana State Fairgrounds

"I just can't wait to see all the lessons that are learned on this court and all the dreams that are realized through it all," said Gov. Eric Holcomb.

INDIANAPOLIS — It was a big day Tuesday at the Indiana State Fair.

It's been hot and humid, but that didn't dampen the excitement over a new partnership between Pacers Sports & Entertainment and the fair.

A new basketball court was revealed, a permanent fixture for state fairs, community use, almost anything you can think of.

The dedication of the court is a big announcement for all involved. Indiana is known for basketball, and this is a way to give back to the youth of this community. While this court is here and can now be used for practices, community events or games, the actual new court design will come at a later date.

Gov. Eric Holcomb was on hand for Tuesday's event. Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell represented the Indiana Fever.

"I just can't wait to see all the lessons that are learned on this court and all the dreams that are realized through it all, so thank you all very, very much," Holcomb said.

"Pacers Sports & Entertainment does a really good job of trying to get involved in the community and do things like this, so it's fun for us," said Clark. "It gets people excited, not only about the Fever, but about the Pacers, too, and it's something that'll last for quite some time. I went and played at the park all the time growing up, I had a park right up the street that had a full court like this, so for me, it's super cool to be a part of these opportunities."
