INDIANAPOLIS — The family of a woman killed along the downtown canal is pleading for justice.
24-year-old Jessica Doty-Whitaker was shot during the July 4th weekend.
Her boyfriend says they got into an argument with racial overtones with a group of four men and a woman.
"I beg and plead somebody come forward, somebody seen something lets bring justice for Jessica because her murder shouldn't go in a file that's unsolved," Jessica's mother Arlena Doty said Friday.
Earlier this week, Metro Police released surveillance pictures of the people they think were involved in the deadly shooting. Investigators are hoping someone can help them identify those people.
