Family, friends come to remember Najah Ferrell

It was an emotional evening on the city's west side Saturday night.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – It was an emotional evening on the city's west side Saturday night.

Where family came together from across the country to remember Najah Ferrell.

The Avon mother went missing nearly two months ago. Since then police have classified the case as a death investigation after finding partial remains in Crown Point.

Nearly 100 braved the rain to honor Ferrell, sharing memories and then holding a balloon launch.

It has been a special hurt for Ferrell’s mom on the eve of Mother’s Day.

“It has been a rough road for me. But she has given me strength through it to because I never thought I would be here. Never in my wildest dreams,” said Paula Gholsen

Avon police officers were also there Saturday. They said right now there's no new update on the investigation and are still asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
