LEBANON, Ind. — First responders in Lebanon rescued a driver after their car crashed into a retention pond Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 1:45 p.m. June 17 on Countryside Drive, near Anderson Lane and Elm Swamp Road on the north side of the city.
The City of Lebanon Fire Department said responding crews found a car in the pond with the driver still inside, and police and fire personnel entered the water to reach the driver, who was conscious but stuck in the car.
Responders freed the driver and pulled them out of the back of the car before it filled with water.
The driver was treated by EMS crews at the scene and taken to a local hospital for "further evaluation," the fire department wrote in a social media post.
No first responders were injured during the rescue.
