Downtown bars and restaurants prepare for large crowds during Pacers and Colts games

While the owners of the Slippery Noodle are excited to have a packed house throughout the night, their biggest hope is a win for both teams.

INDIANAPOLIS — Bars and restaurants downtown were busy all-day Saturday as Colts and Pacers fans came in before the games. At the Slippery Noodle, they knew fans would stay for a while, so they decided to turn part of their menu blue.

"We are making the noodle go blue today, so we have blue margaritas, long islands and draft beers," Sean Lothridge, owner of the Slippery Noodle said. "We are going to do everything we can to cheer the Colts on."

As they watch the crowd grow outside Lucas Oil Stadium from their window, excitement grows inside the bar.

"We are super excited. We love that the Colts have a chance at the playoffs," Lothridge said.

While they will be playing the game live, they are also cheering on the Pacers. Lothridge said having both teams play at the same time creates an atmosphere downtown that Indianapolis hasn't had for a while.

"We love it for all the downtown bars and restaurants. It's a great influx of business. Having all the sports teams do extremely well — and play down here — is going to be a big boost for us and our staff," he said.
