INDIANAPOLIS — There's a new way to explore parks and rivers across the Indianapolis-area this summer.

Discover White River has launched a new rewards pass to encourage visitors and residents to explore parks and engage with attractions and activities along the White River. The rewards pass is free and is available now through October.

The pass is mobile-friendly, and users can earn points by turning on their phone's location services and check in via GPS while visiting participating locations in Marion and Hamilton counties. There are more than 35 locations users can check in to along the White River.

Pass users can also accumulate rewards points by participating in volunteer work, river clean-up days or citizen science activities.

“We’re excited to offer this pass to get people out on and along the river. The pass couldn’t come at a better time while Central Indiana is implementing the White River Vision Plan and has been conducting a decade-long waterways clean-up as a part of the 58-mile river improvement project,” said Brad Beaubien, Visit Indy’s senior director of destination development.

Every check-in allows users to collect points that will lead to exclusive prizes — including branded items and rental vouchers for paddleboats. The largest prize is a daylong guided fishing excursion with Two Forks guide service.
