It appears cursive is on the comeback trail. At least, the Indiana Senate likes the idea. Lawmakers voted to pass SB 130, which adds cursive writing to the list of curricular requirements for elementary schools.
That bill is now headed to the House.
The bill was authored by Sens. Jean Leising, Michael Delph and James Smith. It reads, " Requires each school corporation and accredited nonpublic elementary school to include cursive writing in its curriculum. Requires each school corporation and accredited nonpublic school to include reading in its curriculum."
