PENDLETON, Ind. — A fire at an Indiana Department of Correction building in Pendleton brought first responders to the facility Wednesday evening.
According to a DOC spokesperson, a fire broke out on the roof of a building at the Correctional Industrial Facility on Feb. 14.
The spokesperson said staff and incarcerated people working inside the building were able to evacuate safely.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire before it spread. No one was injured.
The spokesperson said the building is not a housing unit at the prison.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
