INDIANAPOLIS — A woman found dead on Indianapolis' near northwest side early Saturday had been hit by a car, the coroner's office said.
According to a public police report, IMPD officers responded to the intersection of West 20th Street and North Tibbs Avenue around 5 a.m. April 13 for a report of a person down.
On April 15, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed the death of 33-year-old Courtney Brooke Adams and said she had been struck by a vehicle.
An IMPD spokesperson told 13News that after initially responding for a report of a person down/injured, officers later learned the woman had likely been struck.
"The crash investigations unit is aware and will be investigating," the spokesperson said in a message to 13News.
