INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, hundreds of cyclists returned to Indianapolis nearly two weeks after setting out on this year's "Cops Cycling for Survivors" ride.
The group's final spot was at Crown Hill Cemetery for a ceremony to close out the ride.
The annual event pays tribute to officers killed in the line of duty throughout Indiana's history.
"It may be the only time that officer's name is ever read and we are committed to making sure they are never forgotten," said Sgt. Kevin Getz, who is also a board member for Cops Cycling for Survivors.
This year's ride included tributes to seven officers who died in 2023, including Marion County Deputy John Durm, Johnson County Deputy Timothy Guyer, and State Trooper Aaron Smith.
