INDIANAPOLIS — Faith leaders in Indianapolis want the city's housing agency to do something about conditions at the Lugar Tower apartments.
It's a story we've been following for months after dozens of residents filed complaints with the Indiana attorney general.
In August, the AG's office said the management company and housing agency didn't address needed repairs.
Initially, tenants reported some improvements, including added security and cleaner common rooms. But now, the Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis says the housing agency withdrew security from the building and are calling for it to be restored.
13News has reached out to the housing agency and is awaiting a response.
The subsidized housing on Fort Wayne Avenue near Massachusetts Avenue is 17 stories tall and has 250 units for seniors and people with disabilities.
In August, the city's crime mapping tool indicated 17 assaults, two robberies and 19 break-ins this year on the same block as the towers.
