INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — It's just 30 days from the big race you'll only see here on Channel 13, and we will have you covered when it comes to all the big events leading up to the race.
Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner AJ Foyt watched a new bronze brick was placed into the famous Yard of Bricks in his honor Thursday.
An IMS facilities staff member created the sold bronze bricks. Bud Tucker works as a weld shop foreman but he's also an artist who works with metals and sculpture.
"I work here everyday and I know I'm at the capital of auto racing, and I know that, but as you work day to day you kind of forget where you are," Tucker said.
Foyt was one of three four-time winners honored with the new commemorative bricks.
Al Unser and Rick Mears now have new bricks in their names, too.
