INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has reached out to help a local restaurant get back up and running.
The owners of Kountry Kitchen Soul Food Place tell Eyewitness News Irsay donated $25,000 to the restaurant, which was heavily damaged by fire earlier this month. They said the restaurant has catered several events for the Colts over the years.
The restaurant has also raised more than $40,000 through a GoFundMe page to help the owners of the restaurant and its employees while the restaurant works to rebuild. Radio One also helped collect money through a drive-up donation drive.
You can also donate at Key Bank locations using the account name "Kountry Kitchen Benevolent Fund."
Despite being shutdown, the restaurant hopes to at least be able to offer catering to their customers who have supported them year after year.
The restaurant owners shared with Eyewitness News that fire investigators have ruled out any suspicious activity or foul play.
