The Clark County sheriff was arrested Tuesday morning after an FBI investigation.
Sheriff Danny Rodden gave a prostitute official law enforcement credentials and a deputy's badge last May so she could get a government rate at a Louisville hotel, according to his indictment. Our CNN affiliate in Louisville, WLKY, reports the two met again later that month at a Louisville hotel where Rodden paid the prostitute $300 for sex and gave her a uniform shirt and other official Clark County clothing, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Rodden has been sheriff in Clark County since 2007. He is a former chief of the Jeffersonville Police Department.
He's set to be in federal court in Indianapolis Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
