INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The City of Indianapolis is providing a free face covering to any Marion County resident who doesn't already have one.

These face coverings are for adults only and one size will fit most. The CDC recommends against face coverings for children 2-years-old or younger and for anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the face covering without assistance.

The City of Indianapolis asks you do not request a face covering for the following stipulations:

  • You do not fit into a high-risk category.
  • You already have access to a face covering.
  • You have the ability to purchase one.

The City of Indianapolis’ first priority is to provide face coverings to those unable to purchase or obtain a face covering, older adults, and people who have serious underlying medical conditions.

The CDC has provided guidelines for when and how to wear face coverings.
