INDIANAPOLIS — A child was wounded in a shooting on the far southwest side of Indianapolis Monday evening.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 6100 block of Old Mill Drive around 8:20 p.m. The officers found the juvenile victim at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds.
The child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children. Their condition was described by police as "stable."
Investigators believe the shooting was accidental and self-inflicted, based on preliminary investigation.
