BEECH GROVE, Ind. — A child is in serious condition after jumping out of a window to escape a house fire Monday morning.
Just after 11 a.m., the Indianapolis Fire Department responded to the 100 block of South 13th Street in Beech Grove for a house fire.
The fire displaced two adults, four children and a dog, according to IFD. One of the children jumped out of a first-story window to escape the fire, but landed inside of a window well about 15 feet below. Neighbors helped the child move away from the house before the child was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
